Harbest Agribusiness Rooftop Greenhouse for Research & Development of Seeds and Farm Inputs
An experimental roof-top greenhouse was established in the Harbest Agribusiness Corporation's Main Office in the Rizal Techno Park, Taytay Rizal. The main purpose of the facility is to conduct preliminary testing of new vegetable seed varieties, and also to conduct research and development farm inputs like pesticides, fertilizers, biostimulants and also hydroponics and irrigation and fertigation systems for water efficient farming. This is also to test the local performance of new and selected vegetable varieties. The greenhouse structure is strong enough to resist strong typhoons and also surrounded by insect nets to prevent crops from being damaged by insects and birds. This was the basic structure during construction, showing metal beams, the net and UV - protected plastic roofing, and nettings at the side.
